About
Host Karola Sakotnik

I have worked in a variety of top notch jobs in my career. From singer and actress in musical show productions at the Opera of Graz to founding Red Nose Clown being part of the building process of the largest hospital clown network worldwide. After a serious health crisis, later on I was in charge of the relaunch of AIDA cruises entertainment as well as the artistic director of Hapag Lloyd Cruises culture and events. Back to Austria I designed and introduced Emergency Smile, psychosocial support through humor and clowning for war and torture survivors in international refugee camps during the Syria crisis in 2015 and the Ukraine crisis back then , too.
In 2017, at 52, I said to myself that the time to pass on experience fulltime had come. Now I work as keynote speaker and have become one of the outstanding leadership coaches on New Leadership and communication with impact in international organisations. As you might guess, my approach is human, humble and curious, called Future Skills Farming. I am convinced that seeing a person is crucial to create a safe space where innovation and engagement are triggered intrinsically and can flourish. Meaningful exchange is great way to hone these abilities in oneself.

Allow me to introduce myself: Karola Sakotnik!

I successfully enable and empower leaders and their teams in the field of New Leadership, culture and creativity.

My interventions can be summed up the following: keynotes, trainings and facilitations, interactive online reflection and learning formats and coaching.

Starting as artist and subsequently as Artistic Director in International Culture Management, I have been working as a leadership expert, cultural developer, keynote speaker, business coach, trainer and still also as an artist and author for over 10 years.

I can look back on many years of international experience as an executive in large corporations, as artistic director of Hapag Lloyd Cruises and AIDAcruises, and on a successful career at the Vereinigte Bühnen Graz, among others, as an actress, director, singer and Red Nose Clown in the field of humour and trauma work, and as a lecturer in teacher:in-service training. My interpreting studies and living abroad enable me to offer you my services in four languages. New leadership and diversity in my fields of expertise at the interface of culture and hospitality on the one hand, and as a curator, producer and designer of learning and cultural programmes on the other, are what set me apart.

“Meaningful conversations bring people together. It creates connection, the most basic need of us humans and is thus one of life's most fulfilling activities. The ability to activate the curiousity in people to want to connect and verbally exchange is my greatest pleasure and passion.”
